7 Ways to Get Naturally Clearer Skin at Home

To use it at home, you can put raw honey directly on the affected area. After it dries, simply rinse it off with warm water. You can do this as often as every day.

To get the added benefit of milk, mix a teaspoon of your raw honey with two teaspoons of milk to create a paste that makes an excellent facemask. After spreading it on your skin, allow it to sit for 20 minutes before rinsing it with warm water. This treatment is great for use once a week.

2. Lemon

The vitamin C found in lemon can actually help to eliminate any dark spots on your skin because it encourages skin regeneration. To boot, the citric acid will remove any dead cells. Many people squeeze lemon juice in their hair to lighten it; in the same way, lemon will improve your overall skin complexion through clearing up uneven pigmented patches.

To use, you can simply squeeze a lemon on your face and neck and allow the juice to sit for 10 minutes before rinsing it with warm water. You can also mix lemon with raw honey to create a mask that can be worn for about 20 minutes. Simply combine juice from half a lemon with two tablespoons of honey.

3. Baking Soda

With anti-inflammatory properties, baking soda can help to calm irritated skin that has pimples and splotches. It also works to balance your skin’s pH levels to reduce the instance of acne. As an exfoliating substance, baking soda will also free your skin of dead cells and other impurities.

You can start by combining a teaspoon of lemon juice with a teaspoon of baking soda for a paste that can be massaged into your skin and immediately rinsed. You can also combine equal parts of baking soda and honey for a mixture that should be applied to damp skin. After massaging it into the skin for a full minute, rinse it with warm water.

4. Cucumber

There is a reason you have seen people wearing cucumbers on their eyes: it works! Using cucumbers is a great way to hydrate your skin and repair any damaged cells. Simply slice a cucumber and rub the pieces all over your face, allowing the juice to sit on your skin overnight. You could also squeeze lemon juice and combine it with equal parts cucumber juice to make a light mask. Apply it to your skin and let it dry completely before rinsing it off.

5. Aloe Vera

The antibacterial properties of aloe vera makes it useful for killing the substances that cause bad skin. Aloe vera is also extremely soothing, making it ideal for irritated skin or people who have scars. After breaking an aloe vera leaf and squeezing out the gel, apply the gel to your skin with a cotton ball. It will take about 30 minutes to dry. Once it is dry, rinse it with warm water. You can use this treatment every day.

6. Turmeric

Turmeric is known for its skin-lightening abilities, excellent for minimizing the appearance of scars on your skin. It is also an antiseptic and can alleviate the symptoms of certain skin disorders. To use it, you can make a paste from equal parts pineapple juice and turmeric powder. Apply it to your face and let it dry, rinsing with warm water. You can do this up to three times a week.

You can also combine some milk with a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a teaspoon of gram flour. This paste should allow be applied and allowed to dry before rinsing, though you should only use this treatment once a week.
